Reconstructionists Stand Against Violence

On behalf of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College / Jewish Reconstructionist Communities and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association, we mourn the victims who were killed and pray for the full and speedy recovery of those wounded in Wednesday’s ruthless terrorist attack in Tel Aviv. We condemn in the strongest terms the actions of two terrorists who opened fire on a crowd on Wednesday, killing several and wounding more.

May we all enter the upcoming holy day of Shavuot with humility and openness as we receive the Torah anew and continue afresh our struggle to bring its message of peace into the reality in which we all live. It is our hope and prayer that we are able to maintain a spark of light during this dark time, as our thoughts and prayers are directed toward the victims and their families.

Please join us in remembering today those who will enter Shavuot this year utterly broken and in deep pain. Peace be unto us all.

B’Shalom,
