News from Chesapeake JRF

As I write this, I am getting ready to attend the Shabbat Celebration at Columbia Jewish Congregation that begins this evening. We have 20+ teens and 70+ adults from all our regional congregations registered to celebrate Shabbat together, discuss, learn and strategize about Tikkun Olam, network and make new Reconstructionist connections. I would like to thank everyone who is leading services or a workshop or participating the weekend in some way.

Thank you to our Camp JRF Counselors Aliza Land and Ally Schonfeld for programming and staffing our first No'ar Hadash Shul In. Thank you Rabbi Ilyse Kramer and Judy Young for being a part of this program. Thank you to Rabbi Sonya Starr and Alan Pomerantz for agreeing to spend the night to make this teen program possible. There are teens participating from four of our congregations, and we hope that this will be the first of many No'ar Hadash programs in our region.

I would especially like to thank Rabbi Sonya Starr, Cantor Jan Morrison and CJC for their hospitality. A very special thank you goes to Alan Pomerantz for all his hard work and support. We all look forward to spending a great Shabbat together.
