Wanted: A Few Good Camp Staff

Camp JRF is looking for creative, energetic, talented, upbeat, responsible, and excited Jewish college students to be on our staff for Summer 2007. We are currently looking to fill a number of positions - each of which are open to college students (or graduating high school seniors). Staff members are chosen for their maturity, commitment to Judaism, special skills, camping and youth experience, and genuine care for children. Our salaries are competitive, but the experience of spending a summer in a 24-7 Reconstructionist community is truly priceless!

Job descriptions for the positions we are currently looking to fill are as follows:

Counselors
Counselors live in cabins with the campers. They are involved in every aspect of camp, providing the best possible camping experience for their campers. As responsible, mature young adults, madrihim serve as role models for the campers in how to lead a healthy, Reconstructionist life. These are individuals with creativity, high energy, enthusiasm for Jewish life, and a love for working with children.

Lifeguards
Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of all people at the pool and lake areas. They will also be expected to give instructional swim lessons. Qualified applicants will be mature, responsible, hard working, and a team player. Proper Red Cross certification is required; Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred.

Challenge Course Staff
Challenge course staff members will assist the Challenge Course Director in running the Challenge Education program. Experience teaching and using a challenge course is preferred.

Assistant Challenge Course Director
The Assistant Director of the Challenge Education Program will work with the Challenge Course Director to implement the challenge education program - using the high and low ropes courses to build a stronger camp community while also offering campers a way to challenge themselves in a safe environment. Experience with low and high ropes challenge courses is required; certification is a plus.
