Hiddur Presents Autumn Song: An Evening with Yiddish poet, singer and songwriter Beyle Schaechter-Gottesman

Hiddur: The Center for Aging and Judaism of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College along with The Jewish Reconstructionist Federation and other organizations in the community are sponsoring a dynamic multigenerational event: Autumn Song: Portrait of the Artist as an Older Woman, an evening with acclaimed Yiddish poet, singer and song writer, Beyle Schaechter-Gottesman.

Please join us as this renowned artist reflects on her journey in later life through song, poetry and conversation. At 87, she continues to create and share her art.

Schaechter-Gottesman received a 2005 National Endowment for the Arts Heritage Fellowship and is the subject of the documentary film Song of Autumn. Her son, Itzik Gottesman, associate editor of the Yiddish Forward, will serve as her interpreter.

Beyle's cds and books, including her newest, just released, The Blossom of Days, with poems and sketches by Beyle, will be available for purchase.
